Winton & Mayfield Street parking survey results
Mayfield St. Parking Survey Summary By Rachel Sabo - March 25th 2010
15 of 24 houses surveyed
Two of the 24 homes were not occupied at time of survey.
All residents of Mayfield St. are strongly against having the Green
space turned in to a parking lot. We all use the space for something at
some time or other.
I believe the value of the neighborhood would decrease and it would
become a less desirable place to live if the green space was changed in
to a parking lot. Most people feel that the parking issues should be
taken care of by opening parking up on Winton road for the
businesses. After all that is not a residential street. Also many people
expressed the need for the police to enforce the parking rules and
ticket the patrons of Winton Rd. who park illegally. This is not because
we want to discourage business for Winton Rd. businesses, but
because we feel our street and homes are not the place for the parking
to be solved.
Two other suggestions made: 1. To make a dead end out of Mayfield
St. having the entrance to it off of Woodstock St. 2. Resident parking
only, Residents would have special parking passes to place in their car
window that would allow them to park on the street.
